International automotive industry standards
KN BatteryChain is based on elements of the automotive industry’s most widely used international standards – ISO/TS 16949. This international standard unifies the various assessment and certification systems used in the automotive supply chain across the globe. This certification corresponds to the VDA (Verband Deutscher Automobilhersteller) Standard 6 Part 2 and IATF standard.
Certified battery warehouses
In order to handle lithium batteries, all Kuehne + Nagel sites must undergo a comprehensive 22-step implementation program prior to certification. These steps include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring that the site has access to a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA)
